Why Quran is the Truth: message of Quran appeals to man’s Logic, reason and his original goodness

1- Quran provides the most logical reasoning to man’s questions.

According to the Quran God does not call for blind subservience on the part of man but rather appeals to his intellect.

The Quran anticipates and answers almost all its readers’ questions about divinity, man’s creation, the earthly life of man and his hereafter to come and more. It logically, simply and clearly reasons with the human mind and conscious about his Creator, the message of God through His prophets and most importantly the fundamental questions about the purpose of human life.

Whatever argument they come up with, We reveal to thee (O Muhammad) the truth of it, and the best explanation (thereof) (Holy Quran – Chapter Al-Furqan 25, verse 33)

It also challenges man to think, ponder, and reflect on his own self and the universe around him to find logical proof of its message. It invites all humanity to advance in knowledge and wisdom and understanding of God’s attributes and His creation as a whole; a combination of invitations almost unheard of in many other “religious” systems and doctrines. Amazingly, Quran regards advancement in knowledge, science and wisdom as one of the most important and greatest means that humankind is able to sense God’s existence and also to increase faith Him and His message.

“Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth; in the alternation of the night and the day; in the sailing of the ships through the ocean for the profit of mankind; in the rain which Allah [God] sends down from the skies, and the life which He gives therewith to an earth that is dead; in the beasts of all kinds that He scatters through the earth; in the change of the winds, and the clouds which they trail like their slaves between the sky and the earth;- (Here) indeed are Signs for people who are wise (or those who seek wisdom).” (Chapter 2, Verse 164)

2- Quran’s numerous scientific proofs

There are astonishing scientific miracles in the Quran, which have amazed many scholars and scientist.  It is not possible that these could not have been known by any human being more than 1400 years ago.

Dr. Maurice Bucaille, a French Surgeon, scientist and university scholar, and the author of one of the most popular books about scripture and science,  “The Bible, The Quran and Science” writes:

“Only after consultations with several specialists in linguistics and exegesis, both Muslim and non-Muslim, was I convinced that a new concept might be formed from such a study: the compatibility between the statements in the Quran and firmly established data of modern science with regard to subjects on which nobody at the time of Muhammad – not even the Prophet himself – could have had access to the knowledge we possess today. Since then, I have not found in the Quran any support given to the myths or superstitions present at the time (during which) the text was communicated to man. This is not the case for the Bible, whose authors expressed themselves in the language of their period.”

3- Quran does not contain any contradictions

Unlike the very many historical and scientific contradictions in the Bible, especially when performing a horizontal comparison of the four Gospels, the Quran displays a coherent nature in its factual statements.

The Quran itself reminds the reader of this very fact:

Will they not then ponder on the Quran? If it had been from other than God they would have found therein much contradiction and incongruity. (The Quran Chapter 4, verse 82)

4- Unchanged nature of the Quran

The preservation of the holy Quran one is of the its most valuable and trustworthy proofs. This is the only religious book that exists word for word, letter for letter and vowel for vowel in its original Semitic language of Arabic. It is accepted by almost any thoughtful man that the precise and original meaning and message is lost in translation. If the original scripture is not available and the current text has gone through many translations, as is evident in the case of the Bible, we cannot conclude that the true meaning is still conveyed. On such bases, the Quran is only book that can at least claim to be absolute divine, free of any human interference and additions.

Not only do we have the Quran in its original language, man is reminded and assured that this text will be preserved in its very own verses:

We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption). (The Quran, Chapter 15, verse 9)

Dr. Maurice Bucaille goes on to write:

“Well over a thousand years have elapsed since the most ancient manuscripts and today’s texts of the Quran, but these texts are still absolutely identical…. Some copies still exist today, in more or less complete form, in such places as Tashkent (former U.S.S.R) and Istanbul, Turkey. Copies have also been discovered that date from the very first centuries after the Hejira [i.e. exodus of Prophet Muhammad]; they are all identical, and all of them correspond to the earliest manuscripts.  Today’s editions of the Qur’an are all faithful reproductions of the original copies. In the case of the Qur’an, there are no instances of rewriting or corruption of the text over the course of time.”

5- Quran’s absolutely unparalleled literary style

It is an approach that brings the reader to the foundation and core of its message.

The Quranic narration as a whole produces an outstanding way of communication to man. It pleads to man’s deep logic and conscious; while making both sound in a harmonious tone as if from the most beautiful musical orchestra never heard before; obviously to those who are truly willing to listen and observe its message. It is hard to think that such a scripture could be the work of any human being; a fact that the Quran itself repeatedly rejects.

The rhythmical narrative of the Quran compromises of almost half of the book while the other half are direct references. The book takes the reader’s mind through a spiritual, emotional and self-examining roller-coaster. The Quran’s style is unmatched in every literary sense that Arabian people and later generation have heard to this date. This was arguably the main reason why the early companions of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and many Arabs accepted it as a clear sign from God and proof of its divinity.

When referencing or describing Allah [God with most the beautiful attributes], the words and sentences swing and swerve human imagination from one dimension to another describing His beautiful names and attributes while not allowing the reader to fully confine Him within imaginative pictures of his thought or complete a description around him; as if constantly whispering to man’s subconscious mind  “there’s More to Him”, emphasizing and underlying more and more on the limitless of His glory and boundless of His merciful existence.

Listen to the Holy Quran Chapter 2 verses 83 to 93

6- The Quran does not claim to be word of a prophet

Neither does it claim to be the word of any another man or of men who told of other holy men. Its strict emphasis on the fact that this Book is the final and the complete revelation sent to mankind as guidance from God from His limitless mercy to the children of Adam.

This Qur’an is not such as can be produced by other than Allah: on the contrary it is a confirmation of (revelation) that went before it, and a fuller explanation of the Book – wherein there is no doubt – from the Lord of the Worlds. (Quran, Chapter 10, verse 37).

It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the criterion (of judgment between right and wrong). (Quran, chapter 3, verse 3)

Listen to the beautiful recitation of Chapter 50 – Qaaf (The Letter) and read along its English translation:

7- Quran’s historical prophecies

Different texts claim many of the same historical events at different times and with varying details. Historical argument is one of the hotly debated topics amongst enthusiasts and scholars, however, there are certain events whose details were not known at the time (~1400) at the Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), specially to the beduin and nomad Arabs of the far deserts. Numerous of these events have evidently come true since.

Much like the very many scientific evidences of the Quran, more and more each day scholars are adding to the historical proofs of this text.

8- Quran’s mathematical proofs

The Quran is not just a book compromised of words, in Arabic language each letter carries a numerical weight with itself, called Abjat letters. Looking carefully at these numbers, it has been found that it is also a book of many numerical equations and and mathematical relations. The numerical evidence within the Quran is one of the most amazing and fascinating subjects when talking about this divine text.

For example, the whole book, its chapters and its verses and even its letters show a very direct and precise relationship with number 19, that if one word or one letter were to be omitted from this ancient text, none of such relationships would have made any mathematical sense.

9- Quran includes all peoples in God’s mercy and unifies all Prophets

Its universal message to all Mankind and the promise of God’s reward and punishment is directed to all people according to their deed, the only “Chosen People” are the ones that prove themselves in their unshattering believe in the One God, in their establishment of regular prayers and their regular charity. The Quran denounces self-proclaimed religious titles and disregards man’s race, language or background as form of their superiority.

Verily the most honored of you in the sight of God is he who is the most righteous of you (Quran 49:13)

A person need not to be a Christian or a Jew or a Muslim by birth to attain eternal peace and salvation, but one has to submit his whole self to God in every sense and be doer of good:

And they say: “None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian.” Those are their (vain) desires. Say: “Produce your proof if ye are truthful.” (Quran 2:111)

Nay,-whoever submits His whole self to God and is a doer of good,- He will get his reward with his Lord; on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. (Quran 2:112)

10- The crucial emphasis on absolute oneness of God

This may be the most important message of the Quran: believing in God, the ONE “creator of the heavens and earth and all that is contained in them” as well as the oneness of God’s religion for mankind and His message.

The Quran beautifully connects the same message of God to Adam as a prophet to his own family, to Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, Salomon, Zachariah, John, Jesus and many other prophets to finally conclude God’s covenant to mankind through Muhammad.

Say ye (O Muhammad): “We believe in Allah (God), and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Isma’il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) prophets from their Lord: We make no difference between one and another of them: And we bow to Allah (in Islam [i.e. submission to God in peace]).” (Chapter 2, verse 136)

And your Allah is One Allah. There is no god but He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. (Chapter 2, verse 163)

11- Message of the “Original Goodness” of man as opposed to “Original Sin”

The Bible teaches that Man is born sinful, this however is completely in contradiction with the merciful and just attribute of a divine being we call God. One of the main messages of the holy  Quran on the other hand is that every person is born pure, clear and free of sin.

The Quran tells us that every person is responsible for his or her own actions in this earthly life. We are told, “no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another”.

Your point # 9 what do you mean Quran invites all into God’s mercy?

    • Admin says:

Assalamu Alaikum (Peace with with you)

Quran invites all into God’s mercy in sense that it is not exclusive to a certain group. God promises His reward for those who believe in Him and do righteous deeds.

It is an open invitation to those who call themselves “Christians” (i.e. followers of Jesus (pbuh)) and those who call themselves “Jews” (i.e. descendants of tribe of Judah)that they are also invited in to His mercy as long as they recognize God’s oneness and His absolute transcendence over all things and in this recognition they perform regular prayer and spend in charity from what He has bestowed on them.

This is not the case in mainstream Christianity or Judaism; in each case salvation is exclusive to the sect and its professing (not necessarily practicing) members.

2:111. And they say: “None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian.” Those are their (vain) desires. Say: “Produce your proof if ye are truthful.”

2:112. Nay, whoever submits His whole self to God and is a doer of good,- He will get his reward with his Lord; on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

      Hope this helps.

      Peace be with you.
